Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions outline how you may use thegrandriverroom.com and engage with The Grand River Room for dining, events, and in-person offline poker lounge experiences in Australia.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of thegrandriverroom.com and the services we offer at our boutique dining venue in Australia ("The Grand River Room", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully before engaging with our website or making a reservation. By visiting our website, exploring our menu, enquiring about events, or joining us for an in-venue offline poker evening, you acknowledge that these Terms form the basis of our relationship with you.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our website, submitting an enquiry, booking a table, confirming an event, or participating in any experience at The Grand River Room, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should refrain from using the website and from making or holding a reservation with us.
3. Reservation Policies
We accept bookings for our restaurant dining spaces and The River Card Salon via our secure online booking form or directly with our hosts in person, by phone, or by email. All reservations are subject to availability and written or electronic confirmation from our team.
Where applicable, we may request card details or a deposit to secure larger group reservations or special experiences. Any such requirements, along with associated cancellation windows or minimum spend expectations, will be made clear at the time of booking.
4. Guest Responsibilities
We kindly ask that all guests provide accurate and complete information when making reservations, including contact details, party size, and preferred times. You agree to notify us of any changes to your plans as early as possible so that we can adjust your booking or offer the space to other guests.
Guests are expected to arrive promptly for their booking time. If you anticipate being late, please contact us so we can do our best to accommodate you, noting that late arrival may shorten your dining or lounge time during busy periods.
Any special dietary, allergy-related, cultural, or access requirements should be communicated in advance of your visit so that our team can prepare appropriately and advise on menu suitability and seating arrangements.
5. Dining Experience and House Conduct
We strive to create an exceptional, welcoming atmosphere for every visitor, reflecting the care we bring to our ingredients, hospitality, and design. We ask that all guests respect our venue, staff, and fellow patrons throughout their time with us.
During your visit, you agree to follow any posted house rules or reasonable requests from our team relating to safety, comfort, noise levels, photography, or attire. We reserve the right to refuse service or request that a guest leave the premises where behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with a respectful environment.
6. Event Bookings and Private Hire
For larger social gatherings, celebrations, corporate occasions, or partial and full-venue hire, specific terms and conditions apply. These may include tailored quotes, minimum spend requirements, menu selections, and exclusive-use arrangements.
Any deposits, staged payments, cancellation windows, and adjustment policies will be communicated in writing for each event booking and confirmed by you in writing or via our booking platform. By confirming an event, you agree to the specific terms set out in your event proposal or function agreement, in addition to these general Terms and Conditions.
7. The River Card Salon Participation
The River Card Salon is an intimate, in-person offline poker lounge designed for social, recreational, and face-to-face play only. Participation in any offline card lounge activities, friendly matches, or curated tournaments is entirely offline, hosted exclusively within our venue during scheduled sessions.
By joining any offline poker lounge activities, you agree to comply with our code of conduct, to respect fellow players and hosts, and to observe any house rules regarding scheduling, etiquette, and fair play. The River Card Salon is offered as a social amenity and is not a forum for any form of online or remote wagering. We reserve the right to pause, adjust, or end a session where behaviour does not align with our standards of respect and hospitality.
8. Payment Terms
Payment for dining, event hires, and The River Card Salon bookings can be made via the approved payment methods available onsite, which may include major debit and credit cards and other supported options as advised by our team from time to time.
All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of applicable Australian taxes unless otherwise stated. Any service charges, surcharges for public holidays, or additional fees for bespoke event inclusions will be communicated in advance wherever practicable.
9. Modification of Services
We are committed to showcasing seasonal produce, regional meats, and organic ingredients, which means our menus naturally evolve. We reserve the right to change menu offerings, pricing, opening hours, event schedules, and offline card lounge programming as necessary to reflect availability, quality, and operational considerations.
Where a change may reasonably affect an existing reservation or event, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you using the contact details you have provided. General updates will be posted on our website as promptly as practicable.
10. Liability
While we take all reasonable measures to promote your safety, comfort, and satisfaction, The Grand River Room is not liable for any unforeseen events, loss, damage, expense, or inconvenience incurred during your visit or use of our services, except where liability cannot be excluded under Australian law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations, and conditions, whether express or implied, relating to the website and our services. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantees or statutory rights that you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
